Junior Sous/Line Cooks
Basic Kitchen is seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual to lead our BOH team alongside our Chef and Sous. We cultivate a friendly, forward thinking environment with a focus on health and wellness and an emphasis on local produce. The junior sous chef assists with daily operations of the kitchen, providing professional leadership and direction to kitchen personnel. Ensures that all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet restaurant's specifications and commitment to quality. Maintains a safe, orderly, and sanitized kitchen. Demonstrates this by example, using proper food handling techniques. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this position will assist in ordering, menu engineering, cost control, and supervision and training of staff.
Ideal candidates will be energetic, enthusiastic, hyper creative, and able to handle large volume. Candidate MUST be motivated by seasonal ingredients, and farm to table connection. Previous leadership experience is REQUIRED. Candidate must have experience in health and wellness and a penchant for cooking nutritious, health-oriented cuisine. Must have hands on management style with strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse staff. Must have some clerical experience and strong line skills are required.
